It didn't even rain yesterday.

I DID get to yell at some obnoxious skateboarding teenagers last night who were skateboarding in the hotel parking lot behind my house. I felt like an old lady, and it felt good.

I've used the word 'dilemma' at least 20x in writing and I still have to look up how to spell it every time...

It is currently raining.
Tomorrow is church.
WHAT DO I DO?

  • Wear my adorable wellies

-- a) Wear wellies and bring heels to change into
Things to think about: where do I keep my wellies? now I have three wet objects (umbrella).

-- b) Wear wellies all day long at church
Things to think about: bulky, wet, may not match, have no jacket that matches wellies.

------- b1) I have a skirt that matches my wellies PERFECTLY.
  • Wear high heels and not worry about it
Things to think about: my calves will get wet. Wait.. my calves will get wet either way.
  • Pray it stops raining by church
Things to think about: we really need rain, vanity/selfishness.
  • Stop being so vain
Things to think about: but I gotta look good at church. Crossing this one off now.

OOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
So, I'm not really that vain.. and I think the rain is great since this is California and I'm a huge nerd and know that we have a shortage of water and this huge 'where do we get the water from' 'no that's MYYYY water!' debate that is just never ending/really annoying/way too involved with the government BUT realllly? What do I do about rain? I KNOW other people have to deal with this all the time and also snow. Trust me, I've lived in New York. I've donned full snowsuit to go to elementary school. If you think your little Idaho life is hard now.. imagine being a six year old trying to figure out where your glove went because your mom is going to kill you if you only go home with one and also how will you make a snowball at recess, assuming they ever let you outside the classroom with all the snow. Walking with a snowsuit on when your only five years old is difficult, I don't even want to think about how I ever sat down on a bus. There was a plus side to all that though: moon boots. Can ya dig it?

I'm kind of beginning to dig the whole rainboot thing. And I really DO have a skirt that matches (and an umbrella - all NOT on purpose! My mom and I just think THAT alike - SCARY). But it totally ruins my schedule of outfits. (You know the 'can't wear the same thing to church twice in a row because then I'll never get a Eternal Companion even though boys don't reeeally notice what you're wearing but we all know the pick-a-little talk-a-little in Relief Society is just as bad, if not worse, as not ever getting married.) That's ok, I wore the outfit I WAS going to wear tomorrow to the New Year's dance and even though I was only there for an hour for the sole purpose of doing our Single Ladies' routine and only danced with one boy, people SAW me and that was only a month ago. So maybe I'll wear that NEXT Sunday.

Oh my goodness, THANK YOU FOR RAINING. I almost made a huge mistake/fashion faux pas/I'm totally making a bigger deal out of this than it is except all this really did go through my mind. And maybe I'll bring my heels in my giant Mary Poppins purse (or at least the car) just in case. And who knows... maybe it won't even be raining in 12 hours and all of this will have been for nothing...
